✂️ Shepparton Sewing Centre: Stitching Together Excellence Since 1991
Shepparton Sewing Centre began its journey in October 1991 on Wyndham Street, Shepparton, with a clear mission: to deliver exceptional customer service in sewing machine sales, servicing, and repairs. That same year marked the beginning of our proud and enduring partnership with Swiss precision brand Bernina — a relationship that continues to thrive today.
As demand grew and our product range expanded, we relocated in 1993 to Maude Street, acquiring the Val Hill Sewing Centre. This move also saw us become the Goulburn Valley’s trusted representative for Pfaff and Brother sewing machines.
In 1995, we welcomed Naughtons Sewing Centre into the fold and added Janome to our growing lineup of premium brands — further strengthening our commitment to offering customers the best in sewing technology.
With service traffic increasing and a vision for long-term growth, Brad — now our current owner — began his sewing machine technician apprenticeship in 2003, laying the groundwork for a future built on technical expertise and customer care.
Recognising the evolving needs of the sewing community, and following the closure of local fabric stores Lincraft and Naughtons, we opened a dedicated fabric store on High Street in August 2004. This new space offered a curated selection of quality dress and patchwork fabrics, sewing patterns, threads, notions, and haberdashery.
It wasn’t long before we outgrew the High Street location. With customer convenience and experience at the forefront, we searched for a space that could accommodate a larger retail floor, onsite parking, and a dedicated classroom for workshops and events.
In June 2006, Shepparton Sewing Centre and Bargain Box Fabrics moved into our purpose-built facility at 36 Benalla Road — our current home. Here, we proudly showcase over 60 machines from leading brands including Bernina, Pfaff, Janome, Brother, and now Baby Lock and Husqvarna Viking.

- An in-store quilting service using the Bernina Q24 Long Arm machine, launched in 2015
In 2022, founders Steve and Shelly retired after 31 years of dedicated service. Brad, our long-time technician, stepped into ownership with a clear vision:

With few regional dealers offering premium machines, we proudly added Baby Lock to our range — pioneers of air threading and automatic tension systems for effortless sewing. In 2024, we welcomed Husqvarna Viking, known for their innovative design and exclusive features.
